What is Banyan Tree Private Collection (BTPC)?

BTPC is Asia’s first destination club offering perpetual and transferable membership. As membership is asset-backed, true asset-protection is ensured. The Club is insulated from any business or financial risks affecting Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, because the assets are held by an independent company, whose shares are held by a trustee shareholder.

BTPC has a fast expanding portfolio of more than 20 top destinations, including properties in 14 destinations currently under development. These include two bedroom villas in current and future Banyan Tree properties including Phuket, Maldives, Seychelles, Lijiang, Ringha, Bali, Jiuzhaigou, Mexico, Barbados, Kerala, Greece, and Marrakech; private villas in Europe, North America, and Australasia; and serviced residences in gateway cities such as London and Barcelona.

BTPC is managed by Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, a leading niche resort developer and operator in Asia-Pacific with strong global hospitality management and resort development experience, and more than 280 awards and accolades to its name since the first resort was launched in 1994.

As a manager, Banyan Tree provides BTPC members with travel experiences that are consistent with our brand philosophy -- the romance of travel. Leveraging on our complementary branded product offerings, ranging from resorts, hotels, spas, and galleries to golf courses, BTPC delivers multi-faceted, destination-specific experiences and hospitality services that are of exceptional standards and quality.

What does it cost to join Banyan Tree Private Collection?

A one-time joining fee of US$120,000 and US$220,000 with annual dues at US$3,000 and US$6,000 for individual and corporate membership respectively, are required to secure the membership.

What are the key benefits of a BTPC membership?

Annual cost of membership is less than 25% of a seven-day stay in a Banyan Tree resort
Over a conservative 50 year period - and the membership is in perpetuity - the annual cost is less than 25% of a one week stay in same villa in any Banyan Tree resort. This means you will not have to worry about hotel rate and resort tariff inflation. Furthermore, the down payment for a vacation home will be more than the BTPC club membership joining fee of US$120,000 and annual maintenance fee of US$3,000. With less upfront and annual payments, members can access more villas in various locations around the world.

Asset-backed
Membership is asset-backed. The club is also insulated from any business or financial risks affecting Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, because the assets are held by an independent company, whose shares are held by a trustee shareholder.

Perpetuity and transferable
Membership is perpetual and can be transferred, sold or willed to your loved ones.

Current and future destinations
Members have access not only to any of the existing villas in the BTPC portfolio, but also all properties that may be acquired by BTPC in the future. We have a portfolio of more than 20 villas (14 under development) in Phuket, Seychelles, Maldives, Lijiang, Ringha, Bali, Jiuzhaigou, Mexico, Barbados, Kerala, Greece, and Marrakech; 3 to 5 bedroom private villas in Tuscany and Southern France; and serviced resideneces in gateway cities.

Branded assurance of villa quality
In contrast with stand-alone luxury villa rental, where there is an absence of branded assurance of villa quality and furnishings, all BTPC villas are designed to provide guests with a sense of place that captures the spirit and culture of each location. Banyan Tree will also maintain and refurbish the villas.

Resort amenities and membership privileges
Most residences acquired by other destination clubs are stand-alone properties, whereas the majority of BTPC villas are attached to Banyan Tree resorts. This means that BTPC members can access resort amenities, including spas, golf courses, swimming pools, restaurants; gym, tennis, water recreation facilities, and libraries. Members will also hold a membership card entitling them to privileges at Banyan Tree’s restaurants, spas, and galleries.

A la carte menu of destination-specific experiences
For those who desire unique holidays, BTPC offers an a la carte menu of pre-payable destination specific experiences. These range from sandbank dining, dinner on the rocks, massage of the senses, adventure travel experiences in Banyan Tree resorts, to gourmet culinary experience in European destinations.

Daily housekeeping will keep everything in the villas clean and comfortable.

Is there a cap on membership?

No. As club membership grows, the club will be able to add even more destinations and offerings so that members will continue to enjoy the benefits without compromise.

For my membership, what type of use rights am I entitled to?

a) The basic Membership Plan includes :

  • 1 week use of a 2-bedroom villa*
  • Airport/Villa/Airport transfer
  • Membership privilege card offering discounts for spas treatments, gallery products, golf and stays at Banyan Tree resorts
  • Membership services, including reservations and providing information on vacations
  • Resort host and on-site concierge services at Banyan Tree resorts
* The 1 week will equate to 10 days should you decide to use a 1-bedroom villa instead of a 2-bedroom villa in any one year.

Will there be a situation of the villas being overbooked? If not, how does BTPC ensure villa availability?

To ensure villa availability, our villa inventory will always be held at a ratio of 1.5 to 2 times the projected membership sold for the year. These buffer villas ensure that members will have sufficient assurance of availability.
