Peak Period Surcharge
SURCHARGE AND ANNUAL DUES Who benefits from peak week surcharges and annual dues – BTPC club members or the manager? Surcharge and annual dues collected will be used solely for the benefit of BTPC club members. A major portion of the surcharge and annual dues will go towards maintaining the villas and providing membership services, and any surpluses will be used for the improvement of services offered to the members. Why are BTPC annual dues one of the lowest in the industry? There are three main reasons. First, annual dues are partially subsidised by the peak week surcharges collected. Second, a key distinguishing feature of BTPC is to grant Banyan Tree resorts license to rent out unoccupied room nights, and room revenues collected from rental are also used to subsidise annual dues. Third, villa maintenance fees for a standalone villa are typically higher than a Banyan Tree villa’s, because the latter benefits from economies of scale achieved at the Banyan Tree resorts. Due to lower villa maintenance costs and prudent cost management, BTPC members are charged lower annual dues. |
